HERNDON, VA - Traffic Engineer - This position is with a well-known regional consulting firm. In this role you will conduct and coordinate the production of traffic signal plans, signing and pavement marking plans, roadway lighting and electrical distribution plans, intelligent transportation systems (ITS) plans, and maintenance of traffic plans to the Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) stage. Practical knowledge of construction activities for these components is preferred. Other duties include the performance of various traffic engineering studies such as determining the need for traffic signals, analyzing high accident locations, performing traffic analysis, and improving signal timing. Traffic planning studies include analyzing roadway corridors and developing travel demand forecasts using transportation planning models.
